WORK-BASED LEARNING
Students complete Practical Training with selected employers in Slovenia or abroad (through Erasmus+ study placements), based on the professional learning outcomes defined in the programme Catalogue of Knowledge. Students are introduced to the importance of Practical Training for their career development, as it provides valuable experience in linking theoretical knowledge with practical application in a supportive learning environment. They are encouraged to choose employers where they will be able to develop the skills needed to achieve their career goals.
In the Rural and Landscape Management programme, Practical Training is carried out on agricultural holdings, in companies operating in the agricultural sector, and in public institutions and regional development agencies.
In the Food Technology and Nutrition programme, Practical Training takes place in the food industry, food production businesses, large-scale catering facilities, and companies operating in the fields of food technology and nutrition. Students gain practical experience in food production technologies and in planning nutrition for different target groups.
Students enrolled in the Nature Conservation programme complete Practical Training in companies, public institutions, municipalities, research institutes, organic farms, protected areas, Natura 2000 sites, and other organisations involved in nature conservation, environmental protection, sustainable development, the circular economy, laboratory analysis, and related fields.
Students in the Hospitality and Tourism programme complete Practical Training in hospitality and tourism organisations, including hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, tourist information centres, sports and recreation centres, spa resorts, regional development agencies, and similar organisations. We maintain excellent cooperation with these employers both in Slovenia and abroad. Mentors and students alike highly value the experience, and Practical Training frequently leads to employment after graduation.
