Career opportunities for graduates of the Hospitality and Tourism programme are wide-ranging. Graduates may pursue careers as Head Chef, Front Office Manager, Hotel Manager, Hospitality Events Organiser, Hotel Animation Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneur, Sustainable Hospitality Manager, Barista, Pastry Chef, Hospitality Nutrition Consultant, Vocational Teacher, or Food Designer.
Graduates of the Wellness programme may find employment in health resorts, wellness centres, beauty and cosmetic salons, hotels, leisure and entertainment facilities, restaurants, fitness centres, or establish their own wellness or fitness business. Career opportunities also include roles such as Digital Wellness Creator, Wellness Coach, Sports Animator, Nature Guide (Forest Bathing Guide), or Lifestyle Consultant.

You may apply for admission to the Hospitality and Tourism and Wellness study programmes during the two official application periods by submitting an electronic application through the Higher Vocational Education Admissions Service. The application and admission procedure is carried out in accordance with the Annual Call for Enrolment issued by the Ministry of Education.
Higher Vocational Education Act (Article 29):
Applicants may enrol in Higher Vocational Education if they have successfully completed the General Matura or the Vocational Matura.
Applicants may also enrol if they have passed the Master Craftsman, Foreman, or Business Manager examination, have at least three years of work experience, and have successfully completed the examination in general education subjects required for the Vocational Matura in secondary technical and vocational education.
A secondary education qualification obtained abroad does not prevent enrolment or continuation of studies at the Higher Vocational College for Hospitality and Tourism (VSGT). Applicants must follow the admission procedure and submit the required documentation through the Higher Vocational Education Admissions Service.
Applicants who have already been enrolled in a Higher Education programme for three years may enrol in the part-timeHospitality and Tourism or Wellness study programmes.
The application and admission procedure is conducted in accordance with the Annual Call for Enrolment issued by the Ministry of Education.

Our study programmes are based on practical learning, project work, and close cooperation with industry, enabling students to gain valuable professional experience in real working environments throughout their studies. We are particularly proud of Restaurant and Café Sedem, the only educational restaurant in Slovenia included in the Michelin Guide and awarded a Michelin Recommendation—a place where theoretical knowledge meets outstanding professional practice.
Through the Erasmus+ Programme, students have the opportunity to complete Practical Training in leading hotels, restaurants, and wellness centres across Europe, opening the door to an international career. We also offer the opportunity to continue studies in the Tourism Business Management programme at the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica, delivered at our campus. In just three years, students can obtain two qualifications.

STUDY PROGRAMMES
We offer two modern Higher Vocational Study Programmes:
HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM, leading to the professional qualification: Hospitality and Tourism Business Organiser
WELLNESS, leading to the professional qualification: Wellness Business Organiser
The programmes are two years in duration and are worth 120 ECTS credits.
Both programmes are modern, practice-oriented, and designed to address the challenges of today’s world, from digitalisation to sustainable development. Throughout their studies, students develop communication and digital skills, acquire competences in planning, organising, and managing business processes, gain knowledge of project management and marketing, foster creativity, and learn to ensure high-quality service delivery in accordance with legislation and professional standards. They also acquire specialised knowledge in the fields of hospitality, tourism, and wellness.

Wellness – CURRICULUM
Students enrolled in the Wellness programme develop knowledge and practical skills related to healthy lifestyles, enabling them to take a more proactive approach to their own health and well-being. Through a variety of projects, such as Wellness Day, World Wellness Day, and Digital Wellness, as well as through interdisciplinary learning, students actively participate in the planning and organisation of events. In doing so, they integrate knowledge from the fields of wellness, economics, marketing, business communication, information technology, movement and physical activity, beauty care, and body care.
