Business Management
Programme Objectives
The Higher Vocational Study Programme in Business Management aims to educate professionals who:
- possess broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge combined with practical skills relevant to the business environment;
- acquire comprehensive knowledge of commercial operations, financial management, and accounting;
- develop a thorough understanding of business organisation, management, and the organisation of operational processes; and
- gain both generic and profession-specific competencies in the fields of commercial operations, international business, accounting, business organisation, and tourism.
Profession-Specific Competencies
Graduates of the programme will be able to:
- apply conceptual thinking and use business applications and databases to support customer relations and develop effective business solutions;
- monitor market trends, analyse competitors, and apply market research methodologies;
- analyse statistical data to support market analysis, business performance evaluation, marketing activities, and business process improvement, while understanding the principles of economic policy and international business;
- organise, plan, and manage logistics processes and contribute to the development of business strategies;
- interpret and apply legislation, regulations, documentation, and procedures relevant to business and economics;
- apply theoretical knowledge effectively in a wide range of business contexts;
- use modern information and communication technologies (ICT), mathematical and statistical methods, and contemporary management techniques to support efficient business operations;
- apply knowledge of financial management, marketing, management, the marketing mix, together with the principles of environmental sustainability, ergonomics, and occupational health and safety; and

work independently in professional roles involving the operational and strategic management of small and medium-sized enterprises, the development of intrapreneurship, business planning, business development, and real estate operations.
Computer Science and Informatics
The profession of Computer Science and Informatics Technician is in high demand in Slovenia and offers excellent career prospects internationally.
The Higher Vocational Study Programme in Computer Science and Informatics prepares students to:
- work with innovative technologies;
- design and develop information systems;
- administer software and hardware systems;
- use professional software development tools;
- protect information systems and computer networks; and
- design and develop websites.
Students also develop the skills required to:
- install, maintain, and service information and communication technology equipment;
- design and implement computer networks;
- install and administer servers; and
- design, develop, and administer databases.

- Web Solutions Development
- Cybersecurity

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants are eligible for admission to the Higher Vocational Study Programme in Business Management if they have:
- successfully completed the General Matura or the Vocational Matura, or hold an equivalent qualification obtained under previous education regulations; or
- passed a master craftsman, foreman, or managerial examination, have at least three years of relevant work experience, and have passed an examination in general education subjects at the level prescribed for the Vocational Matura in upper secondary technical education.

STUDY PROGRAMMES
Business Management
The Higher Vocational Study Programme in Business Management prepares students for a dynamic, stimulating, and rewarding career in the world of business. Success in today’s business environment requires up-to-date professional knowledge, a sound understanding of Slovenian and European legislation, and familiarity with the latest business practices and market trends.
The programme offers three specialist pathways, providing students with contemporary knowledge and practical skills in:
- Entrepreneurship and Marketing
- Tourism
- Accounting
Each academic year consists of 34 weeks, including 24 weeks of lectures, seminars, and laboratory classes at the College, followed by 10 weeks of Practical Training with employers.
Computer Science and Informatics
The Higher Vocational Study Programme in Computer Science and Informatics is a nationally accredited and internationally comparable programme that integrates theoretical learning with practical education.
It equips graduates with a broad range of knowledge based on contemporary technologies, industry-relevant content, and modern teaching approaches. In addition to developing profession-specific competencies, students acquire the broader theoretical and professional knowledge required for successful careers in the ICT sector.
The programme prepares graduates to respond effectively to emerging technological challenges and to compete successfully in the European labour market. Its modular structure offers a high degree of flexibility, enabling students to tailor their studies through elective modules and develop specialised skills that enhance their employability and professional competitiveness.
