Applicants may enrol in a Higher Vocational Study Programme if they:
have successfully completed the General Matura, the Vocational Matura, or an equivalent qualification obtained under previous educational regulations; or
have successfully completed the Master Craftsman, Foreman, or Managerial Examination, have three years of work experience, and have passed examinations in general education subjects at the level required for the Vocational Matura in secondary technical education.
In addition to the admission requirements prescribed by law, applicants to the Social Network Organiser programme must also successfully complete a psychophysical aptitude assessment, which consists of a test of communication and social competencies and a personal interview.
The selection of candidates in the psychophysical aptitude assessment is decided by the Study Committee. The Higher Vocational College notifies applicants of the assessment results in writing, within the deadlines specified by the Rules on Admission to Higher Vocational Education (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 6/05). A certificate confirming successful completion of the aptitude assessment is issued by the competent authority of the Higher Vocational College and is valid for two years.
By completing a nationally accredited and internationally comparable study programme at Abitura Higher Vocational College (www.abitura.si), you can obtain the professional title of Logistics Engineer, Visual Communication and Marketing Designer, Business Management Technician, Business Secretary, Security Engineer, Wellness Business Organiser, Computer Science and Informatics Engineer, Hospitality and Tourism Business Organiser, or Social Network Organiser.
Even more important than the professional title itself are the knowledge and the strong practical orientation of the study programmes. This significantly enhances your employment opportunities, whether you are seeking a new job or advancing in your current career. After graduation, you may also continue your studies in the higher education programmes of the Faculty of Commercial and Business Sciences. Abitura is not only a Higher Vocational College but an educational institution that has been designing and delivering professionally relevant study programmes for 30 years, ranging from secondary education to higher vocational and higher education programmes. To date, nearly 20,000 students have enrolled in one of the five educational levels offered by the institution.
As the study programmes are organised in compact modules, held in the afternoon, and offered through a combination of on-campus and online learning, Abitura is an ideal choice for students who wish to balance their studies with other commitments, such as employment, entrepreneurship, sports, family life, or other personal pursuits. Among our graduates are entrepreneurs, elite athletes, musicians, and many other professionals with demanding or unconventional schedules. Students consistently highlight Abitura’s understanding of each individual’s unique circumstances as one of its greatest strengths. Read their experiences at www.studiraj.si/blog/.
All Abitura study programmes are strongly focused on developing practical skills and professional experience. Our lecturers come directly from industry, and in each year of study students prepare and defend a practical project assignment. The study process also includes practical demonstrations during laboratory classes and study visits to companies operating in the professional fields covered by our programmes.
Over the past 30 years, we have provided Practical Training opportunities for our students in more than 800 micro, small, medium-sized, and large companies. Through partnership agreements with a wide range of employers, we increase students’ opportunities to complete their Practical Training in a professional field relevant to their studies and, whenever possible, at a location of their choice (for example, close to their place of residence). Partner companies also advertise vacancies through our Career Centre.
During their studies, students learn how to prepare professional presentations and CVs, which they can upload to the online Career Centre database, accessible to prospective employers. Students may also complete their Practical Training abroad through the Erasmus+ mobility programme.
An increasingly valuable source of practical experience, employment opportunities, and career networking is our Abitura and FKPV Alumni and Student Network, which you can join at www.studiraj.si.
We encourage all students to gain as much practical experience as possible. Students with two or more years of relevant work experience may apply for partial or full recognition of Practical Training, provided that their previous employment corresponds to the learning outcomes of the programme.
