The Vocational Education Centre Ljubljana – Higher Vocational College offers study programmes in Logistics Engineering and Automotive Service Management.
The two-year study programmes comprise 120 ECTS credits and lead to a Level 6/1 qualification. In addition to developing professional expertise, students also acquire essential knowledge and skills in management and economics.
A key component of the programmes is practical education. Students complete 400 hours of practical training each year, enabling them to apply their knowledge in real working environments. The Vocational Education Centre Ljubljana has established an extensive network of partner employers, allowing students to undertake their practical training close to their place of residence.
Through the Erasmus+ programme, students also have the opportunity to complete their practical training abroad. In addition to enhancing their professional knowledge, they gain valuable experience of working in an international environment while developing organisational, language, and intercultural competencies.
We are proud to offer learners a seamless educational pathway, from upper secondary vocational education through to Higher Vocational College programmes, all at the same location and within the same fields of study.
More information is available at the Higher Vocational College website.
WORK-BASED LEARNING
Practical training in the Automotive Service Management programme is exceptionally comprehensive and of a high standard. Students complete 400 hours (10 weeks) of practical training in each academic year, gaining hands-on experience in real working environments. Rather than simply observing, students actively participate in professional tasks at highly qualified employers and in state-of-the-art inter-company training centres. This approach provides direct exposure to the latest automotive technologies and business practices, ensuring that practical training effectively bridges the gap between theory and the realities of the profession.
The practical training is carefully structured into progressive learning modules. During the first year, students focus on communication, business operations, and automotive technologies, while the second year covers more advanced topics, including mechatronics, vehicle systems, and management. Under the guidance of experienced mentors and industry professionals, students develop advanced professional competencies as well as the confidence to work independently. This intensive, high-quality practical training ensures that graduates are well prepared to take on demanding roles in the automotive industry immediately after completing their studies.
